Northern California will host its fifth
annual Author’s Fair at the Mt. Shasta
Mall in Redding on Saturday, November 8.
Dozens of local authors will be on hand
to talk about and sell their books to
interested readers, sign autographs,
present readings and further promote the
art and business of writing. Spectators
can enter the Best First Sentence
Contest and walk away with a one-year
subscription to Writers’ Digest
magazine.

Saturday Art Hop?”

The Shasta Lake area is
located at the very top of the great Central Valley, in beautiful Northern
California, nestled between lush, green mountains. Visible from the City of
Shasta Lake are both Lassen Peak and Mount Shasta (which offers seasonal
snow skiing), snow boarding and hiking.
Shasta Lake and Shasta Dam are a short, five minute drive from the City.

Shasta Dam Tours
If you haven't visited a large dam facility
before, Shasta Dam is a good place to start! In addition to being
educational, there are breathtaking views of the mountains and surrounding
area. Just take I-5 to Hwy 151 and go west until you come to a stop
sign. From there you will see easy directions which will take you to a nice
information center with pictures of the construction of the dam. There are
daily tours of the dam, starting at 9 am (taking about an hour in length).
Because of upgraded security, dam officials ask that you arrive 20 minutes
early.
